Spare parts for a wide variety of shoe making machines used in the Goodyear welted process as well as parts for the more conventional shoemaking process can be manufactured or sourced.

Many of these are available ex stock.

Many of the traditional hand tools and accessories used in the shoe making process such as closing and bench hammers, lasting pincers, trimming and paring knives, clicker handles and associated blades, tack lifters and scissors.

The Shoe Business Ltd sells a wide variety of knives and groovers. Knives can be provided for many operations such as rounding, channelling, staple wire cutting, welt thread cutting, sole splitting, slitting, snipping, skiving and inseam trimming. Many of these can be supplied from stock or if necessary manufactured on a “made to order” basis.

Drivers and awls are stocked for many machines and are also produced on a “made to order” basis, where limited quantities are required.

A comprehensive range of interlinings, backers, plumper’s and reinforcing materials can be supplied with or without an adhesive backing.

These are supplied in standard widths 19mm and 25mm as well as specialist widths and substances.

Toe puffs - can be supplied in woven fabric based materials with or without an adhesive coating and in black or white colours. Non woven, thermo plastic materials and leather toe puffs can also be supplied.

Stiffeners - can be supplied in leather board (adhesive or non adhesive coated), woven fabric based materials as well as Thermo - plastic materials

These components can either be supplied direct and also by special arrangement they can be supplied from an “in stock” system and called off as required.

Steel shanks can be supplied from a library of over 4,000 profiles or designed and developed to your exact requirements.

They are produced using high specification carbon steels to ensure they are always produced to a consistently high quality.

All shanks are specially treated to help prevent corrosion and can also be zinccoated for specialist applications.

Shanks can be supplied direct or held “in stock” for call-off.

The Shoe Business Ltd works as an agent for IVI Metallics Ltd and as such can offer a wide range of tack and nail shoe grindery products as well as steel and brass wire.

Steel and brass eyelets and rivets can be supplied in a wide variety of colours and finishes.

Woven or non woven, cotton or synthetic laces can be supplied to customers exact requirements.

A wide range of elastics used in the shoe construction are held in stock including specialist elastics for gussets, prong hole elastic and ladder elastic.

These are stocked in a variety of widths and standard colours.

MTO requirements can be catered for.

In the main “water based” adhesives are available for toe puff applications using woven based fabric toe puff or leather toe puffs and leather stiffeners. The manufacturers of all our adhesive and chemical products are covered by the latest “REACH” – The registration, Evaluation, Authorisation (and Restriction) of Chemicals Regulations.

Welt cleaning

Units can be developed and supplied direct from Italy. Leather, leather with rubber inserts and rubber units can be supplied. Loose heels are also supplied to customers own designs and specification.

Sharpening stones for edge cutters, edge trimming, upper trimming, upper skiving machines, roughing and scouring machines can be supplied.
